Visitor Visa for New Zealand

Immigration New Zealand offers wide range of visitor visa options for you depending on your purpose and duration of visit. You must have sufficient funds to maintain your stay in New Zealand or have a sponsor and lawful purpose of visiting the country.

What is a lawful purpose for visiting New Zealand?

A lawful purpose for a visitor’s visa constitutes the following:

• A holiday.
• A sightseeing trip.
• A family and / or social visit.
• Participation in an amateur sport.
• A business consultation.
• Receiving medical treatment.
• You are a guest of the government.

Parent and grandparent multiple entry visa
This visa allows you to visit your children and grandchildren who are in New Zealand and holding a status of a NZ citizen or resident. It facilitates you to stay for a maximum of 6 months at a time and a total of 18 months over a period of 3 years. On this visa you can enter of leave New Zealand multiple times.

Partner or dependent child of student or work visa holder
With this visa you and your dependent children can join your partner who is studying in New Zealand. The length of the visa granted is of the same duration as your partner’s student visa.

If you partner is studying a level 9 or 10 qualification, or a level 7 or 8 qualification that is included on our Long Term Skill Shortage List, they can support:

• visitor visas for you and dependent children
• A work visa for you.

Business Visitor Visa
This visa allows you to travel to New Zealand for a legitimate business purpose. You can include your partner and dependent children in your application. It can be issued for up to 3 months. If you plan on traveling in and out of New Zealand on a regular basis, your application will need to be for a multiple entry business visitor visa.

*This visa does not allow you to work in New Zealand as you are required to carry out the business for which you have been granted this visa.

Tourist Visa
If you want to visit New Zealand for leisure purpose, this is the visa for you. However, you cannot do any other business activity on this visa.
